It took some time until I figured out that graphic design was my professional calling.
Before I knew that, I spend some time working in the tourism industry, making the most of my language skills and getting to see the world. I am only listing the design relevant positions, everything before that is summed up as "school of life" ;-)

School of Life
ongoing - never ends
While this is not so relevant in terms of my design career, it was most important for me in terms of what life is all about. After I finished school I studied something that is called "Multilingual Management Assistant". I felt that it was too boring to sit in someone's office and translate business correspondence., so I decided to travel.. A LOT!!: through Spain, Maldives, South Africa, New Zealand and held various positions such as: Tour guide, guest relations officer, bar maid, barista, receptionist, porter, event planner, foreign language school teacher.. I'm sure I've forgotten some.
I learned a lot of wonderful things like: cooking a roast dinner, making the perfect cappuccino, packing kiwifruit, diving for mantas, hosting karaoke shows, dancing salsa, picking pears... but most importantly I met wonderful people along the way, brushed up on my language and people skills and worked out what I was going to do with my life from then on..
